Congratulations to all involved in Ballyhaunis Community Council on the official opening last weekend of the Community Hall. The former Parochial Hall has undergone extensive renovations over the past number of years and now provides a modern, comfortable facility for meetings, classes, activities, performances, film screenings etc. This work has been led by a committed and enthusiastic group of local volunteers who successfully applied for funding from various Government departments & agencies, as well as undertaking local fundraising initiatives. Last Saturday’s official opening gave the community an opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of local volunteers and public representatives who ensured this dream became a reality. A special presentation was made by Fr. Stephen, on behalf of the parish, to Tom Finn, Main St. who was custodian of the hall for many years on a voluntary basis. Well done to all who have been involved in running the hall over the years, and to those steering the facility forward into the future, on behalf of the local community.
