The annual Corpus Christi procession took place following the Vigil Mass on Saturday evening 6th June, with a procession from St. Patrick’s Church to the Friary. Children who received their First Holy Communion last month joined in, and scattered flower petals along the route. The procession culminated with prayers in the Friary. The driveway to the Friary was adorned with artwork created earlier that day by children from the parish. Those taking part in the procession enjoyed refreshments afterwards, thanks to members of the Parish Pastoral Council. We would like to thank the PPC – especially Julia Kelly- for their work in organising the event. Thanks also to those who took part, and assisted with traffic management, sound system, preparing the Friary and serving refreshments, as well as those who displayed altars outside their homes & premises to mark Corpus Christi. It’s lovely to see the tradition being kept alive in Ballyhaunis Parish.
