A Ceremony of Light was held in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyhaunis on Monday evening 3rd March, for the 40 young people who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation later this month.
Fr. Stephen led the ceremony, which involved readings, prayers and hymns.
Parents took a light from the Paschal Candle – as they did at their child’s Baptism – and handed the lit candles to their son or daughter, to signify handing on their faith to the next generation.
Archbishop Francis Duffy will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation in our Church on Thursday 13th March.
